Baltic FD responds to Franklin for a Haz-Mat 12/27/09....
On Sunday December 27, 2009 at 09:24 hours the Baltic FD was requested to 352 Route 32 in Franklin for a 500 pound propane cylinder leaking within 15' of a structure.Upon arrival of Baltic units (ET-124, Ladder 124, and Tanker 124) members assisted Franklin members with setting up exposure lines and metering the structure. An Uncas Gas Tech had arrived on scene with an empty 50 pound cylinder to transfer product from the 5o0 pound cylinder. It was determined that the 500 mpound cylinder was over filled on a cold day and with the warm weather the product had expanded and vented. Once some product transfer was complete the venting stopped. Baltic units assisted with hose clean up and Baltic units were clear clear around 11:30. Thanks Tim for the pics.......

Baltic FD responds to Bozrah Structure Fire and Stand By Assignment 12/18/09....

On Friday Decenber 18, 2009 at approx 00:06, the Baltic Fire Department was requested for a stand by assignment at the Bozrah firehouse. ET-224 and Tanker-124 were requested for the stand by. While in route Tanker-124 was requested to the scene at 17 Schwartz Road, the Kofkoff Egg Farm and ET-224's crew took in a Fire Alarm at a church on Bozrah Street. Baltic units were released approx. 05:00 hours.... Thanks Tim for the pic.

Baltic FD responds to basement filling with smoke 12/09/09....

On Wednesday December 9, 2009 at approx. 15:20 hours the Baltic FD responded to #221 Pautipaug Hill Road for a basement filling with smoke. Upon arrival of Baltic units it was found that the stove pipe for the wood stove had become dislodged from the wood stove. Baltic units were on scene for a bit to complete ventilation ops and to clean out the wood stove....Thanks Tim for the pics.

Baltic FD respponds to grill fire 11/30/09......
On Monday November 30, 2009 at approx. 16:47 hours the Baltic FD was dispatched to 34 Pearl Street in the Hanover section of town for an outside grill fire. Upon arrival of ET-124 there was a small fire involved with a propane grill with no exposures. The small fire was quickly delt with by the engine crew and the source was removed from the grill. The call was placed under control and information was obtained off the grill and from the home owner. Other units that made it onto the road were Tank 124 and Service 124, but were returned in route to the scene...

Baltic FD responds mutal aid to Scotland for a structure fire 11/09/09......
LT Lewis and FF Davis on the 2 1/2.....
On November 09, 2009 at 03:00 hours, the Baltic FD was dispatched mutal aid with Canterbury and the Central Village FAST Team to the town of Scotland for a W/F at 783 Hanover Road. Upon arrival of ET-124, the unoccupied 1 1/2 floor wood frame house was well involved. ET-124 being the first engine in stretched a 2 1/2 to begin fire surpression. This was also the first call for Tanker 124 which was placed into service last month. ET-224 the other Baltic unit was task with water hole operations. Thanks Sean for the picture........

Baltic FD members beware 10/20/09......
Just found out there have been some motor vehicle break-ins on Main Street in Baltic and on Bushnell Hollow Road. Remember if you respond to a call in your personal vehicle to the scene or to the station, lock it up. Keep your eyes and ears open and be safe.....

Baltic FD responds to MVA 10/10/09........
On Saturday, October 10, 2009, at approx. midnight the Baltic FD was dispatched to the area between 26 and 36 Hanover-Versailles RD for a one car mva. Upon arrival, one car was found off the road into a tree with one patient. The patient was extricated and packaged for transport. The patient was transported ALS to Backus Hospital......Thanks Tim for the pics.......

Baltic FD drills with Scotland on Tanker Ops. 09/28/09.....

On Monday September 28, 2009, members of the Baltic FD with members of the Scotland FD, drilled with the new Tanker 124 in how to set up a drop area and how to pump off multiple drop tanks. Scotland ET-116 and HT-116 also assisted in the drill. Baltic FD will be hosting a State Tanker Shuttle class on October 17th and 18th 2009. Thank you Tim for the pics.....

Baltic FD responds mutal aid to Occum 09/22/09...
On Tuesday September 22, 2009, at approx 11:00 hours, Baltic FD was requested full assignment to Occum for a TT unit fire. Baltic responded with ET-224, ET-124, and R-124 with 11 members. Upon arrival Baltic was directed by Occum command to assist with the opening up of the box portion of the TT unit and some surpression work. Scene was turned over to CSP and Occum and Baltic units were clear at approx. 13:00 hours.

Baltic FD responds mutal aid to Scotland 09/14/09...

On Monday September 14, 2009 at approx. 16:24 hours, Baltic FD was requested full assignment along with the Canterbury FD to 416 Hanover Road in the town of Scotland for a vehicle fire that had extended into a chicken coop. Upon arrival of the first units, the coop had already burned to the ground. The vehicle was also a lost. Focus of the crews was turned to a boat that was located near the coop. The boat recieved a little heat, but was a save. Extensive overhaul was performed to the coop area. Baltic units were cleared to return at approx. 17:20 hours.

Baltic FD responds to a reported electrical fire 09/13/09...

On September 13, 2009 at approx. 17:30 hours, the Baltic FD was dispatched to 11 Potash Hill Road for an electrical fire. Upon arrival of units, it was found that a delivery truck had struck a utility pole pulling the wires from the house causing a surge protector in the house to burn up. The house was inspected for other electrical components with damage and none were found. Baltic FD was clear upon the arrival of CL&P.........

Baltic responds to tree on wires 08/18/09.....
On Tuesday August 18th at 20:25 hours, Baltic Fd responded to the area of 10 Salt Rock Rd. for a tree on wires with fire. Upon arrival of ET-224, there was a tree across the road resting on the wires with no fire. The area was secured and upon the arrival of CL&P, the tree was cut free from the wires and the road was reopened. Baltic units were clear at approx. 22:06 hours.
