Baltic FD responds to Franklin for a Haz-Mat 12/27/09....

FF Davis exiting the structure after metering.....

On Sunday December 27, 2009 at 09:24 hours the Baltic FD was requested to 352 Route 32 in Franklin for a 500 pound propane cylinder leaking within 15' of a structure.Upon arrival of Baltic units (ET-124, Ladder 124, and Tanker 124) members assisted Franklin members with setting up exposure lines and metering the structure. An Uncas Gas Tech had arrived on scene with an empty 50 pound cylinder to transfer product from the 5o0 pound cylinder. It was determined that the 500 mpound cylinder was over filled on a cold day and with the warm weather the product had expanded and vented. Once some product transfer was complete the venting stopped. Baltic units assisted with hose clean up and Baltic units were clear clear around 11:30. Thanks Tim for the pics.......
